Welcome to Neenah Menasha Fire Rescue!

I am Vernon Green, Assistant Chief of Prevention and Fire Marshal for NMFR. As Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal I am the Chief Inspector and Chief Investigator for the Cities of Neenah and Menasha. I oversee and manage all aspects of fire prevention, fire investigations, and public education. Our team works daily to educate business owners, citizens, students, and visitors to our community, on the hazards of fire and how to do their best to prevent fires and other hazardous conditions. We also work to properly and fairly enforce national, state, and local fire and life safety codes throughout Neenah and Menasha. In the unfortunate occasion that we do need to respond to a fire, a fire investigation is conducted to determine the cause and origin in an effort to hopefully eliminate the potential of an incendiary fire.

I have spent my entire adult life in the fire and life safety industry. I served in the United States Air Force as a Crash Rescue Firefighter stationed in Austin TX and also served on the City of Austin Texas Fire Department for eight years prior to moving my family back home to Wisconsin. I worked several years in the special hazard fire protection industry, as well as, risk management and loss prevention. I also served as Fire Marshal for the City of Appleton Fire Department for five years. I consider myself blessed to have been afforded the opportunities that I have had throughout my career.

My family and I have lived in Neenah for over twenty years and I am very grateful to serve the citizens of Neenah and Menasha as a proud member of NMFR. The administration and operations staff of NMFR is an incredible group of professionals that make coming to work everyday an absolute pleasure.

Please feel free to contact me at anytime with any questions, comments, or concerns that you may have regarding fire prevention, fire investigations, or public education in the Cities of Neenah or Menasha.
