Water Emergencies

NMFR Water Rescue Capabilities:

NMFR has the capability to conduct water rescues year round and in multiple circumstances. This is done through our use of a Husky Airboat in winter, Marine 3 boat in summer, and an inflatable boat. The Husky Airboat has the ability to run in open water and transition to ice cover, making it the perfect ice/water vessel to transport personnel on our lakes and river systems in winter for rescues. The Marine 3 boat is a 22’ open water vessel that has the capability of handling the large waves on Lake Winnebago for open water rescues. The inflatable boat can be carried by NMFR personnel, making it the perfect vessel to be deployed in our community’s sloughs and small drainage ponds. For information on our Dive Team click here.
